The Hellenkamp Law Firm focuses on Litigation Strategy, Trial Consulting, and Trial Practice, with expertise in Real Estate, Business, and Intellectual Property Litigation. This includes seeking the recovery of Compensatory and Consequential Damages for breach of contract. We consult with other attorneys and are hired by other law firms to pursue our client’s rights efficiently and cost-effectively. We are creative in our attempts to resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration: but if a reasonable settlement can’t be reached, you can rely upon our experience and zealous trial advocacy in the courtroom.
The Firm represents real estate owners, investors, brokers, developers, and contractors in all aspects of real estate and business litigation, and in all levels of complexity. Our attorneys have extensive experience litigating all types of claims in commercial, industrial, retail, and residential matters, including multi-family residential projects, and complex landlord-tenant disputes. We have successfully pursued Lost Profits claims for clients when contracts are breached.
We also handle complex business, contract, and intellectual property disputes, from contract interpretation to license negotiations.

Terry J. Hellenkamp
Terry Hellenkamp received his bachelor of arts from Washington State University in 1982 and his Juris doctorate from the University of San Diego in 1986. He is a member of the California State Bar and the U.S. District Courts, Southern District of California, Central District of California, and Northern District of California. Mr. Hellenkamp is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association (Past Member, Speaker’s Committee), the North San Diego County Bar Association, the North County Voluntary Settlement Panel, the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He is a past Program Committee Member for the Lawyers Club, and a past member of the Community Associations Institute and Board of Directors, Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation.
Mr. Hellenkamp is a member of the State Bar of California, Real Property, Business Law, and Litigation sections. Mr. Hellenkamp has appeared Pro Hac Vice in complex business litigation matters in the States of Washington, Colorado, and Florida courts.

Prior to forming The Hellenkamp Law Firm in 2011, Mr. Hellenkamp was a partner with the law firm of Wirtz Hellenkamp, LLP, commencing in 2002. Mr. Hellenkamp began his career at Kolodny & Pressman, APC, of San Diego, California. While at Kolodny & Pressman, APC, Mr. Hellenkamp tried many real estate and business litigation cases until he left the firm as a partner in 2002 to form Wirtz Hellenkamp, LLP.
As the principal trial attorney at The Hellenkamp Law Firm, Mr. Hellenkamp brings 34 years of trial experience to the firm. He has litigated cases involving real estate development, complex business, land use, insurance coverage, construction, ADA compliance, antitrust and trade regulation, and numerous commercial landlord/tenant matters. Mr. Hellenkamp has both represented and litigated against many national and international corporations.
Leslie Mereminsky, of Counsel
Ms. Mereminsky is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on complex business, real estate, and construction defect litigation. Ms. Mereminsky’s areas of concentration include construction claims, construction defects, and real estate matters. She has participated in litigation on behalf of commercial, corporate, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in complex multi-party litigation involving commercial and residential properties. Her cases range from single-family-home disputes to actions involving high-rise mixed-use projects. Additionally, she has experience with real estate neighbor disputes, wrongful termination / sexual discrimination, personal injury, and insurance coverage issues. She has experience representing individuals, as well as multi-national corporations.
Prior to joining the Hellenkamp Law Firm, she worked for the law firms of Royce, Grimm, Vranjes; Lorber, Greenfield & Polito; and, Kolodny & Pressman. Additionally, for more than 20 years, she worked as a consultant to numerous law firms providing litigation and trial support.
A graduate of the University of Arizona (B.S. Biology), she received her law degree from the University of Arizona – James E. Rogers College of Law. She is a member of the California State Bar Association and the San Diego Inn of Court on Evidence. She is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
